City of Marysville Gifts the Koester House Museum to the KHM Foundation

Last Updated 4/7/2025

The Koester House Museum Foundation Inc was pleased to sign papers alongside City of Marysville officials on Tuesday, April 2nd; when they gifted the  museum to the Foundation.  The planning for this event has been in the works for many months.  The city was ready to pass on the responsibilities of daily management of the museum.  The Foundation board was happy to receive the gift.

This will give the Foundation more freedom to make improvements and changes to the operations of the museum. The Foundation mission is to keep the museum community centered.  Charles F. Koester allowed the community to use his grounds when he was alive and the Foundation plans to keep it the same.  Of course, without the financial support of the City, the Foundation will be depending upon donations to fund the operations of the museum more than it has in the past.

Signing the documents were, left to right, Vickie Phillipi (Foundation Secretary), Kim Houtz Hiller (Foundation President), and Todd Frye (Marysville Mayor).  Also present for the signing were Josh Haverkamp (city administrator), Samantha Ralph (city clerk), Danielle (notary), Sharon Kessinger (board member & past president), Sarah Koester Morrison (Great grandaughter of Charles F. Koester).
